Electric hook up vs Mobile mains unit - whats the difference?

Camping enthusiasts, both seasoned and new, often encounter decisions regarding their electrical supply needs for outdoor adventures. One common query we receive is about the difference between an electric hook-up and a mobile mains unit when completing our booking form. Here, we aim to show the differences between the two and illustrate how they can be used together to add a litle extra comfort of your camping experience.

Hope Cove Weekend 2023

Every year over the August Bank Holiday Hope Cove weekend it put together with various activities, stalls and live entertainment for locals and visitors to enjoy, whilst raising money for various local charities.

Kicking the weekend off tonight, with live music at Hope Cove from a local band Filthy Gorgeous, there will be lots of activities to keep children, and adults occupied over the long weekend.

Hope Cove Weekend Schedule

The August Bank Holiday is finally here, and with that the Hope Cove weekend is upon us. After a 2 year break following the dreaded and almost forgotten "C" word, we can all finally enjoy the three day event which raises money for local charities.

With the aim of keeping you all well informed, and suggested by one of our regular campers! Here is the list of the timings and activities taking place on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Starlink Trial at Karrageen

Those of you that have stayed at Karrageen will know that 4G and mobile phone signal can be hard to find; besides the random spots where you see teenagers huddled in silence and glued to their screens. Although we do have wifi available on the campsite, thanks to the slow BT/ Open reach lines (we are 1 mile away from the nearest exchange), the offering is pretty slow.

Hope Cove Weekend Is BACK!

Now that the UK’s COVID restrictions have been lifted and life is pretty much back to normal, it is with great excitement we can announce that the Hope Cove Weekend is back!!!

For all those new to Hope Cove, the Hope Cove weekend is a three day family event running over the August Bank Holiday with fun activities, food stalls and ‘friendly’ competitions with prizes donated by local businesses.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Hope Cove

There will be celebrations on Mouthwell (Outer Hope) Beach on Thursday 2nd June, commencing early afternoon. The cannon, which sits above the sea wall over looking Mouthwell Beach will be ceremoniously fired between 1700 - 1730 by the village 'squire', Trevor Rendle. There will also be live music, including a BBQ, pasty, beer and wine stall whilst a beacon will be erected and lit by around 2100 - 2130.

A38 Road Closure for 8 miles after M5

When: 12th May 2022 - 26th August 2022

Where: Splatford Split - Clay Lane, Heathfield

Times: 1900 - 0600, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays

As we approach the first 'proper' busy week at Karrageen, before the summer holidays, its worth taking into account when planning your journey, a fairly major road closure.....the A38!

New Defibrillator at Karrageen

Knowing that Karrageen is located in a fairly rural but equally beautiful area, which attracts thousands of visitors each month in the summer, we thought that we should help to improve the network of defibrillators in our area.

After discussions with the Malborough Parish Council, we decided to invest in a defibrillator on our holiday park to help close the gap between Hope Cove and Malborough.
