We understand the importance of your personal data and will ensure that we take the necessary steps to protect it.

The term “we” and “us” shall be used to refer to the management team at Karrageen Caravan and Camping Park.

Regulation

From May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will supersede the UK Data Protection Act 1998. The GDPR grants individuals with more rights to control how their personal data is collected, how it is processed, gives them the right to access the personal information held about them as well as holds organisations accountable for data protection. GDPR relates to any data or information which can directly or indirectly identify a person.

We are obliged first seek your permission and freely gain your written consent to gather personal data from you.

Data Protection Principles

As well as seeking and gaining your permission, we are obliged to specifically outline what data we will collect from you and also inform you for what purpose we will process this data;

  • Any personal data collected must be done for specific and legitimate purposes as well as being limited to what is necessary for a specific purpose.
  • Any personal data which we process must be done both lawfully and transparently.
  • Personal data shall only be stored as long as necessary and then securely destroyed.
  • The appropriate security measures will be taken to ensure the confidentiality and protection of your personal data.

The personal information we collect

When choosing to book with us, you will be directed through our website to a booking form, where the following personal information will be collected in order for us to process your booking with us, and for us to contact you about your booking:

Last Name

Address

Email address

Telephone number/ mobile number

Car registration

IP address- this is the numerical code assigned to each device which is connected to a computer network. An IP address will hold information such as your city, region and country.

Cookies- Cookies are small files which are placed on your device (computer, laptop, mobile, tablet etc.) when you click onto our website. We use cookies in order to enhance your experience of our website. Cookies provide us with data, such as how you navigated through the website, what pages you looked at and for how long, in order for us to better market our website to the needs of our returning and new customers and make the experience more seamless and enjoyable. You can manage your cookies settings in your browser; however, by doing so, some parts of our website may not be compatible nor work as they are meant to.

CCTV- we operate CCTV on our camping park, and signpost that our cameras can be found on the entrance/exit of our camping fields and outside our facilities and toilet block.

Your personal data is kept private and secure and will be securely destroyed at the point it is no longer required, or has no use.

Right to access your information

You have the right to access the personal data which we store, and request to make changes to any inaccurate data; please email Phil@karrageen.co.uk to do so.

Right to be forgotten

You have the right to request that we securely remove your personal data from our database. Please email Phil@karrageen.co.uk if you wish to do so.

Data breach

You will be informed of any breaches of your personal data within 72 hours. We will also inform you of the action and remedies that we will take to ensure no further breaches occur.

You have the right to report any breaches to the Information Commission Office (ICO).
